Since our foundation in 2007, we have rapidly gained momentum. As a niche supplier in the railway system network, we are experts in our field and seize opportunities where flexibility, innovation and customer proximity are required.
Sihl – Lake Zurich relief tunnel
In May, the tunnel boring machine begins excavating the tunnel from the Sihl Valley to Lake Zurich. With the breakthrough, extreme flood peaks of the Sihl will be channelled through the new relief tunnel into Lake Zurich from 2026. TR Trans Rail AG is responsible for the removal of the excavated material.
National logistics partner of Schweizer Zucker AG
As of Autumn 2021, TR Trans Rail AG will be responsible for all national sugar beet transportation to the sugar factories in Aarberg (BE) and Frauenfeld (TG). The organic beet from Straubing (D) and the imported beet from Wismar (D) will continue to be transported by TR Trans Rail AG.
Partner of Schweizer Zucker AG
Since autumn 2019, TR Trans Rail AG is one of the logistics partners of sugar manufacturer Schweizer Zucker AG.
Operative management of BauRail AG
Since the summer of 2019, TR Trans Rail AG has been responsible for the operative management of the company BauRail AG.
Employee leasing
In January 2019, TR Trans Rail AG was authorised to offer an employee leasing service.
New strategy
The appointment of a full-time managing director in August 2018 also determined the implementation of a new strategy.
Relocation of company headquarters
In June 2018, the company headquarters was relocated from Brig-Glis (VS) to Frauenfeld (TG). Furthermore, TR Trans Rail AG offers other services in the rail sector: leasing of rolling stock and staff training.
Müller Frauenfeld AG
In May 2018, the company Müller Frauenfeld AG, a railway engineering company operating throughout Switzerland, took a 50 per cent stake in railway service provider TR Trans Rail AG. M-Rail is incorporated into TR Tans Rail AG.
Renewal of rail network access licence
In July 2017, an application for the renewal of the rail network access licence, including the transport of hazardous goods, together with the revised safety management system (SMS) was submitted to the Federal Office of Transport (FOT) and approved until July 2022.
Rail Event AG
In January 2016, TR Trans Rail AG took on the personnel from the company Rail Event AG. At the same time, a branch was opened in Frauenfeld.
Introduction of SMS
In December 2014, TR Trans Rail AG introduced a Safety Management System (SMS).
Change of legal form
The legal form was changed in December 2010. The GmbH (Ltd) became an AG (public limited company) and TR Trans Rail AG, as a private railway transport company, began to handle all services acquired by participating partners in the fields of passenger transport, goods transport and special transport.
Operating and rail network access licence
Receipt of the operating and rail network access licence from the Federal Office of Transport (FOT) in July 2007.
Incorporation
TR Trans Rail GmbH was founded in Brig-Glis in March 2007 with the purpose of operating a railway company.
