Transfers/delivery trips ensure rail vehicles used for trial, test and measurement runs are ready for operation at their desired location. New train compositions, which are delivered to customers ex works, and construction vehicles, which have to be at the right place at the right time for construction and maintenance work, are also transported this way. In addition, rolling stock which has to be taken to a maintenance workshop is moved by means of a transfer/delivery trip.
